# 1. Grab a JWT token Server needs to know that you are the one who is sending API requests to the endpoints. Because of that you need to fetch your **JWT token**. Select an account You need to find out on which account you want to create a position and later close it. Please make sure to change: 1. `` Get the list of all accounts and select the one you want and remember two parameters: `accNum` and `id`. Get instrument information In order for you to open a position you need some information about the instrument. Please make sure to change: 1. `` in URL 2. `` 3. `` The things that you are interested in are: `tradableInstrumentId` and `routes` list. The `route` that you are searching for is the one with `type: TRADE`. Create an order The next thing is to create an order. In this example you will create a BTC position of 0.02 lots. Get orders history parameter names Before you can isolate `positionId` you need to get orders history and find your filled order. But since the response won't have named parameters you need to get parameter names. From the response, select the one with the name `filledOrdersConfig` where you will find parameter names for the next requests response data found in step 6. Get positionId After you get the response from the request made in step 5., you will find out which index `positionId` is on. So right now you need to fetch all final orders and find those where `orderId` is the one which you got when you placed an order. Partially close a position If you want to partially close a position, grab a `positionId` from the previous step and send it in the following request. Be careful about `qty` parameter. If it is not set or if it is a 0 the whole position will be closed. Close whole position To close the whole position just leave out the `qty` parameter or set it to 0.
